A little negligence, ignorance, or carelessness can cause a fatal injury. So follow these simple tips – and enjoy your celebration safely.

There are certain Do's & Don'ts to follow while purchasing, bursting, and storing crackers. Please read them carefully and share with everyone at your celebration.

Do's

  • Follow instructions

    Display fireworks exactly as per the instructions mentioned on the pack.

  • Use outdoors only

    Never use fireworks indoors – always burst them in open spaces.

  • Buy from authorized dealers

    Purchase fireworks from reputed manufacturers and authorized sellers only.

  • Maintain safe distance

    Light only one firework at a time, by one person. Others should watch from a safe distance.

  • Adult supervision

    Always have an adult present when children are around fireworks.

  • Keep water handy

    Keep two buckets of water nearby – in case of fire or any mishap.

Don'ts

  • Don't make your own fireworks

    Never try to make or modify fireworks at home – it's extremely dangerous.

  • Don't relight duds

    Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that haven't fully ignited.

  • Don't carry in pockets

    Never carry fireworks in your pockets – friction can trigger them.

  • Don't touch leftover fireworks

    After a display, never pick up leftover fireworks – they might still be active.

  • Don't use glass or metal containers

    Never shoot fireworks from metal or glass containers – they can shatter.

  • Don't wear loose clothing

    Avoid loose clothes, synthetic fabrics, or hanging jewellery while bursting crackers.
